Year 6

Welcome to Year 6

Our big question is

From the past until now, what lessons have we learnt for the future?

Mrs J Thompson

Chestnut Class

I am Mrs Thompson and I am thrilled to be Chestnut class teacher. Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with a diverse range of pupils, each with unique strengths and challenges. My journey led me to serve as a senior leader, where I learned the power of creating a supportive and collaborative environment for both pupils and staff. This experience further deepened my commitment to making a lasting, positive impact in the classroom and beyond. I am currently the English Lead for Writing across the school. Whether leading a team, teaching a class or working with pupils one-to-one, my goal has always been to inspire, empower and make a positive difference, helping pupils succeed not only academically but also develop their confidence and a love for learning. I cannot wait to see what this year holds for us. Let’s make it another amazing one, Year 6!

Mrs E Martin

Oak Class

I have been teaching at Trimley for over ten years and am thrilled to be in year 6 again this year! I am passionate about teaching and providing the children with plenty of opportunities to learn in a fun way. Writing is my favourite subject and I am looking forward to helping the children to produce some amazing work. I also have a passion for Geography and learning about our wonderful world.

Mrs V Avery

Oak Class

I am so excited to be returning to Year 6 this year after being off for the last year on maternity leave with my daughter Emily. I am so pleased to be working with smaller groups on Mondays, Tuesdays and alternate Wednesdays to help support pupils with their learning. I am looking forward to teaching Oak class the rest of the time. I aim to make sure that my class is a safe space where learning can be nurtured and challenged. I have a passion for writing and reading and love sharing this with the class to help them produce some amazing work. Art is my favourite subject; drawing and painting is something that I love to teach. Helping my class prepare for the transition to High School will be something that I focus on as I want every child to leave Trimley being curious about the world, confident and enthusiastic learners!
